About MaxieJane

I’m MaxieJane. I love pastures, especially full of horses. I thought, when I started this blog at my military retirement, that I would be put out to pasture. Instead, over the past (as I write this) three years, I’ve discovered that I’m more active than ever.  Keep your eyes peeled for the soon-to-be launched Birch Bark Editing site where you’ll find creative writing classes as well as coaching and editing services. I earned my MFA from the Bennington Writing Seminars with a dual-genre focus in fiction and nonfiction in June 2020. I teach graduate courses in creative writing for Southern New Hampshire University and I’m the Associate Editor for Nonfiction with CONSEQUENCE Magazine. I’m still thinking a lot, writing almost as much, and sorting out my version of our world, one syllable at a time. My life is full of furry people I love, be they my husband, my horse, our dogs, or our cats. They keep this absent-minded introvert grounded in happiness.
